Over the summer and fall of 2025, the Pilgrim Shaper Residency hosted 11 board builders from California, France, and Australia – each bringing their own distinct approach to surfboard design. The following collection is loosely inspired by the events that took place and the people who participated – all of whom are crucial actors in preserving the legacy of handmade.
This collection was compiled by Chris Gentile and George Nickoll. Featuring interviews with and contributions from: Tristan Mausse, Jack Coleman, Peter Schroff, Derrick Disney, Travis Waddell, Max Tardio, and many more.
