Over the summer and fall of 2025, the Pilgrim Shaper Residency hosted 11 board builders from California, France, and Australia – each bringing their own distinct approach to surfboard design. The following collection is loosely inspired by the events that took place and the people who participated – all of whom are crucial actors in preserving the legacy of handmade.
This collection was compiled by Chris Gentile and George Nickoll. Featuring interviews with and contributions from Tristan Mausse, Jack Coleman, Peter Schroff, Derrick Disney, Travis Waddell, Max Tardio, and many more.
