About Pilgrim
Established in 2012 by Chris and Erin Gentile, Pilgrim Surf + Supply emerged as a distinctive multi-brand specialty retailer and cultural hub in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Rooted in a reverence for creativity and craft, the brand was conceived as both a marketplace and a gathering place—where the ethos of surf and outdoor culture could intersect meaningfully with art, music, and design.
What began as a retail experience evolved in 2015 into a comprehensive menswear and womenswear collection, embodying Pilgrim’s commitment to quality, intentionality, and aesthetics that transcend trends. This evolution expanded internationally through an enduring partnership with Beams, resulting in the establishment of two new stores in Tokyo and Kyoto.
In 2022, Pilgrim extended its reach further by collaborating with select global retailers, thoughtfully introducing the brand to new communities worldwide.
At the core of Pilgrim’s practice is a deep respect for craftsmanship and sustainability. We maintain close relationships with small-scale factories and dedicated artisans, fostering a production model that values integrity over volume. By prioritizing natural, recycled, and upcycled textiles and operating with deliberately low order quantities, we strive toward minimal environmental impact while preserving a high standard of material excellence.
