The intentions of the Pilgrim Shaping Residency are not dissimilar to those of any traditional artist residency—namely, bringing influential figures of the discipline into conversation with our local environment. This year, we are pleased to host a dozen of surfing’s most heralded craftspeople—making their work locally accessible and, ideally, introducing them to new circumstances that provoke symbiotic exchange.
