6’9″ JOSH HALL TWIN KEEL FISH
Where are you shaping and surfing?
I’m shaping and surfing in South County San Diego, just east of the beaches in PB and Mission.
What year did you start shaping?
My first board was in 1999 — as a business in 2006.
What are you currently riding?
Everything — big boards, logs, I’ve really been in to midlength eggs and quad fish.
What trends have you noticed in board design recently?
I think fashion boards are out and function boards are in…
What’s your shaping philosophy?
Build boards as if they were all my personals. 100% handshaped…always.
Who is your biggest shaping influence?
Skip Frye for sure is my biggest and closest, but I’m so lucky to be surrounded by so many legend shapers that you pick up influences all the time.
What do you consider to be your expertise?
I don’t know yet, I’m still a rookie in the grand scheme. Maybe boards that go fast?
